The downhill slide continued for the Flin Flon Bombers Friday night.
The Bombers lost 4-2 to the Weyburn Red Wings, extending their current losing streak to eight games.
Bomber rookie Ethan Daniels started the fun midway through the first, scoring during a goalmouth scramble. Minutes later, Red Wing Erik Olsen scored with a point shot that snuck past Bomber goalie Reese Jones.
Olson struck again with a high slot slapshot in the second period, putting the Red Wings ahead 2-1. Bomber Calvon Boots tied the game up halfway through the second with a seeing-eye shot that fooled Red Wing keeper Carter Phair.
The momentum ran out for the Bombers in the third period when Carson Scheschuk scored to give Weyburn the lead. Cole Woodliffe scored late in the third, taking a big hit in the process, to seal the game for Weyburn.
Phair got the win with 34 saves. Jones took the loss for Flin Flon, making 23 saves in his first game in the Whitney Forum.
The Bombers have not won since Oct. 6, when they defeated the Kindersley Klippers at home. The Bombers have been outscored 42-20 in that time and have lost starting goaltender Brenden Newton to injury.
Flin Flon will try to right the ship Saturday night at home against the Notre Dame Hounds. The Bombers will play a home-and-home series with Melfort on Nov. 1 and 2.
