Bombers looking good, see busy month

Heading into a double header weekend with the Weyburn Red Wings, the Bombers sat in second place in the Bauer Conference Friday morning. Along with being in the top of their conference, Flin Flon's Ryan Fox was fourth in league scoring. He sat with two goals and four assists in two games Ð putting him behind Marc Andre Carre, of La Ronge, with two goals and four assists in two games and Travis Eggum, also of the Ice Wolves, with three goals and three assists in two games. Sitting in first place was Braeden Adamyk of the Kindersley Klippers, who earned one goal and six assists in four games. Flin Flon's Jesse Mychan had his name in the top 20 as he was in 18th place with one goal and three assists in two games. When it came to their goaltending, the Bombers were in good standing as PJ Musico was ranked fifth in the SJHL with 120 minutes of play under his pads. In his two games, Musico had 73 shots and allowed seven goals. Ranked first was Humboldt's Matt Hrynkiw with 60 minutes under his pads Ð allowing two of his 30 shots past him. When it came to the goal-scoring leaders of the SJHL, the Bombers weren't ranked as high in the listings. Fox placed ninth, with two goals in two games, while Tanner Korchinski sat in 10th place with two goals in two games. Matt Glowa of the Humboldt Broncos claimed first place with his four goals in three games. Through the list, Humboldt had four entries; Kindersley had three, La Ronge saw four, Melfort saw two; there were three Yorkton players on the list; two Bombers; one North Star and one Bruin. The SJHL is starting off on a strong foot with teams competing against one another. For the Bombers, next month is going to be a busy one with 11 games to take care of. The Bombers will host two double header weekends and attend one. Flin Flon will get the month started with the visiting Melville Millionaires in for their first pair of the season. Then, the Bombers will prepare for their first road series of the season. Flin Flon will get things started with the Nipawin Hawks before heading to Notre Dame the following night. With a one day break, the Bombers will find themselves back on the ice to face the Weyburn Red Wings for a Saturday night game. And ending out their series, the Maroon and White will visit the Estevan Bruins the following night.
