Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Flin Flon Bombers are gearing up for exhibition and regular season action. First up, though, is the club's main camp. Held at the Whitney Forum, the main camp is where the team really takes shape as final selections are made. Head coach and GM Mike Reagan, along with assistant coach Michael George and the club's scouts, watch over the weekend camp to choose players best suited for the Bombers. Following camp, the Bombers will dress their rookies for a game against the Hawks on Sept. 3 in Nipawin. The Maroon and White will also host the MJHL's Swan Valley Stampeders as well as the Hawks. The team's five-game preseason will end Sept. 14 in Swan River. Home opener The home opener is always a big night for the Bombers. This year, as in years past, the team will start the season off against the rival Melfort Mustangs. The 2012-13 Bombers will debut at the Whitney Forum on Sept. 22, a night after starting their regular season on the road in Melfort. From there, the Bombers will match up against six other teams before hitting the road again in October. The Bombers' 2012-13 schedule has now been posted on the club's website. It shows that Flin Flon has 16 home games and 14 on the road before the Christmas break. The Bombers have a six-game road trip in January as they start in Melville on Jan. 22 and end in North Battleford on Feb. 2. The final game of the regular season is scheduled for Feb. 26 against the Mustangs. The Bombers share the Bauer Conference with the Melfort Mustangs, La Ronge Ice Wolves, Battlefords North Stars, Humboldt Broncos and Nipawin Hawks.
