The Flin Flon Bombers and Kindersley Klippers split a pair of games over the weekend as the Maroon and White played host to their first double-header of the season. Flin Flon downed Kindersley 3-1 on Friday night but lost a close one 3-2 the following night. On Friday, following a scoreless first period, the Bombers took the lead at 10:01 of the second when Parker Evans-Campbell picked up the first goal of the game with help from Brett Boehm and AJ Kapcheck. Dillan McCombie gave the Maroon and White a 2-0 lead with a power play goal at 7:08 of the third period, with assists going to Boehm and Cam Blair. The Klippers got on the scoresheet as Branden Scheidl broke Devin Buffalo's shutout at 12:46 to make it a 2-1 game. Late in the third period Klippers' coach Rockie Zinger pulled goaltender Tyrell King for an extra attacker in hopes of tying the game. Empty-netter But Brody Robinson scored an empty-net goal at 19:44 to seal the deal for the Bombers with a 3-1 victory. The shots came frequently during the game as Buffalo stopped 38 of 39 shots from Kindersley. King stopped 34 of the Bombers' 36 shots in his 58:44 of play. The Klippers looked to exact revenge Saturday as they made it a 1-0 game in the first period. Connor Garden got the puck past Buffalo on a power play to earn the lone goal of the opening frame. Plenty of action from the 3-2 game happened in the second period as the Klippers made 2-0 game at 5:21. Boehm picked up the team's first goal of the night as his power play marker came in at 7:05 _ with help from Blair and Brock Hounsell. McCombie picked up his second of the weekend, with help from Boehm and Blair, with a power play marker at 11:28 before the Klippers scored their third goal of the night. The power play goal at 16:54 gave the Klippers the lead in the third period _ and the victory. Following the weekend games, the Bombers remained in last place in the Sherwood Division. Sitting with a 2-3-0-0 record, the Bombers have four points _ six behind the division-leading La Ronge Ice Wolves. The Klippers found themselves on top of the Kramer Division with eight points.
