The Yorkton Terriers have put some more distance between themselves and second place Estevan in the Sherwood Conference. The Terriers were in Estevan Tuesday night in what was a busy night in the SJHL and beat the Bruins 2-1 to move seven points ahead of the Bruins. Goals by Terriers Zak Majkowski and Keon Vick in the first period held up. Justin Waskewitch scored in the 3rd, for Estevan, but the Bruins were unable to put the equalizer behind Devin Peters. While the Terriers have a comfortable cushion between themselves and the rest of their divisional counterparts in the Sherwood, the same can not be said in the Bauer Conference where it is getting tighter and tighter with each night. The Battlefords Stars won, for the fifth time in their last six starts, with a 7-4 win over Humboldt. Kyle Hall had a hat-trick for the Battlefords to lead the way. Adam Antkowiak had a pair of assists for Humboldt who lost for the fourth time in their last five outings. The Melfort Mustangs have moved into a first place tie with the Broncos in the Bauer Conference. Adam Wihak had two goals and an assist as Melfort went into La Ronge and defeated the Ice Wolves 6-2. Marc Andre-Carre had a goal and an assist for La Ronge, who sit a point back of Melfort and Humboldt. Hottest team The Flin Flon Bombers remain the league's hottest team. After getting beat at home 10-2 by La Ronge last week, the Bombers had rattled off four straight wins Ð as of Thursday morning. Flin Flon started a four-game home stand with a 5-2 victory over Nipawin. Devin Stillar had three assists to lead the Bomber attack. In Wilcox, the Weyburn Red Wings got goals from seven different players as they beat Notre Dame 7-1.
