The Flin Flon Bombers are back in the win column after beating Melville 4-0 in a rare Monday matinee game.

Starting at 1 pm local time in Warman, the Bombers kicked off their two-game turn in the SJHL Showcase spotlight with the team's first shutout of the season.

The game was tied until the dying seconds of the first period, when Brandson Hein broke through with a goal five seconds before the first intermission. After that, the Bombers kept up the pressure against the Millionaires defence. Vincent Nardone broke through midway through the second period, scoring his third goal in five games.

Nate Hooper headed to the box on a holding call halfway through the third period, but that didn't stop the Bomber attack – Hein scored his second goal of the game shorthanded, with his linemate still serving his penalty. Minutes later, Hooper added a goal of his own, with Hein getting an assist.

Bomber netminder Pierce Diamond got his third SJHL win and his first SJHL shutout, making 29 saves. Colby Entz made 30 saves in the Millionaires' crease.

Hein is currently tied with Estevan's TJ Irey for the league lead in points, having tallied up 11 points in only five games. Hooper has eight points in five games, while both Donavan Houle-Villeneuve and Calvon Boots have six points in five matches.

The Bombers' second game of the Showcase will take place on Tuesday at 7 pm local time at the Legends Centre in Warman. After the second game, the Bombers will head home for four straight home games, including two more games against Melville on Sept. 28 and 29.
