The Flin Flon Bombers started their four-game road trip Tuesday night by doubling up on the Nipawin Hawks at the Centennial Arena. The Bombers flew over the Hawks' nest, leaving the rink with an 8-4 victory over the home team. The Maroon and White took a lead early on in the first period with the one and only goal of the period. Reid MacLeod put the puck past Nipawin goalie Mason Sawalzky after 14:03 of play. Lending his helping hand with an assist was Robert Beaudry. As far as the scoreboard was concerned, the first period was over - aside from a few penalties, three of which belonged to the Hawks and one to the Bombers. The second period started off with a blast as Bomber captain Dennis Kubat put the puck in the net after only 19 seconds of play. Lighting the scoreboard up for the first time for the home team was Hawk Torrie Dyck with the help of teammate Steve Mason at a time of 2:45. With the score now 2-1 for the Bombers, MacLeod was determined to keep a safe lead. He put the puck in the net for his second goal of the night, making the score 3-1 for the visitors. Myles Masse and Kubat fed MacLeod the puck on a power play at 13:05 of the second period. Penalties were few and far between for the Bombers. After only having two players in the box during the second 20 minutes of play, the Bombers headed to the dressing room. Coming back for the third period with a 3-1 lead over the home team, the Bombers wasted no time getting back into things. David Linsley scored the first goal of the period, assisted by J.M Allard and Tommy Castonguay on yet another power play. The score now being 4-1 seemed like as good a time as any for Robert Beaudry to take his shot in the net, making the score 5-1. Beaudry's goal was fed by teammate Dominic Martel after 6:53 of play. Despite the lopsided score, it seems the Hawks were eager to try and get back into the game as they scored their second goal. Steve Mason got his shot past Bomber goalie Carsen Chubak with about 12 minutes remaining in the match-up. With the scoreboard showing 5-2 in favour of the Bombers, the away team decided to light up a few more bulbs. Dustyn Clegg scored the Bombers' sixth goal of the night, assisted by Cameron MacKinnon and Cole Wilson. The Hawks answered back with their third and fourth goals of the night, also scored by Mason, giving him a hat trick. While the Hawks were done scoring for the night, the Bombers still had a little left in them. Scoring his hat trick for the night was Reid MacLeod, who put the seventh puck in the net for Flin Flon. MacLeod was fed by Kubat, bringing the score to 7-4. With nearly one minute left of play in the game, Flin Flon's Dustyn Clegg scored his second goal of the night, and the eighth for the team. Clegg's goal was assisted by David Linsley and Harley Garrioch. The Bombers skated away with another victory under their belt.
