The Bombers were unable to get their game going like they can with one win and three losses in a four-game road trip this past week. Over the weekend, the Bombers claimed their first win, a 2-1 victory, in five games over the Weyburn Red Wings Saturday night. Sunday night the team was unable to get the goal they needed to tie the game against the Estevan Bruins as the home team earned a 4-3 win over the Maroon and White. Previous to the weekend, the Bombers lost their games against the Nipawin Hawks and the Notre Dame Hounds. In previous interviews, Bombers head coach and GM Mike Reagan has said "a good team doesn't lose two in a row." For the mantra to be true this week, the Bombers will need to come back and take the win Friday night against the Kindersley Klippers. The Klippers will visit the Whitney Forum for a double-header weekend. But they won't be the only visitors. The Bombers will play to impress as they will host Parent's Weekend this coming Friday and Saturday. The games this weekend are the only ones on the schedule following last weekend's games. Next week it's another wait as the Bombers host the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday, but won't play again until the following weekend. Scoring This past weekend, the Bombers came out with a 2/5 power play against the Weyburn Red Wings Ð the only team Flin Flon was able to beat in their four-game road series. The Red Wings answered back, going 1/4 on their power play. Scoring for the Bombers was home-towner Patrick Korchinski in the second period, followed by Andrew Johnston in the same period. It was Coltyn Sanderson who opened the scoring for the game, in the first period, for Weyburn, but the team was unable to get another one past PJ Musico. Sunday's game against the Bruins had the Bombers 2/8 on their power play while the home team went 2/10. Flin Flon's Eric Millisor earned the team's first goal of the game, on a power play. The Bomber lead held for the first period. In the second period, Estevan's Troy Hunter tied the game. The tie didn't last long as Flin Flon's Ryan Fox came in to earn the team's second goal on a power play. Wrapping up the second period, the Bombers carried the lead and collected another goal as Dougie McLeod put one past Shea Cooper for the 3-1 lead. But the third period went in favour of Estevan as they earned the three goals needed to tie Flin Flon and then pass them for the win. The shots on goal were close as Musico turned away 35 of 39 shots and Cooper stopped 34 of 37.
