Tyler Beachell's offensive explosion against the Battlefords' North Stars has earned him Player of the Week honours for the period ending March 5. Beachell racked up four goals and two assists in three games played last week. He also exploded for two goals and two assists in a 6-5 win over the Stars in game one. "I didn't know that," said Bombers coach-GM, Doug Stokes. "I'm happy to hear that. I really thought that (Dalton) Pajak, Beachell and (Blake) Rolston have really stepped it up in the latter part of the Melfort series and they've been major contributors offensively since that (time) and that's obviously a key for us to be successful." Other players considered for the award were Pajak, Blake Gallagher and Wahs Stacey of Notre Dame, Donald Kerfoot from Battlefords', and Chad Anderson of Weyburn. Bomber defenseman, David Holinaty received Defenseman of the Week for the same week as Beachell. Holinaty registered four assists in three games played. He had one assist in each of Flin Flon's two wins and also had a pair of helpers in the Bomber loss on Saturday night. "David's played very, very well," Stokes said. "I've been happy with David's play throughout the playoffs. I thought he had the one game in Melfort Ð game five Ð where he was absolutely outstanding." Ð With files from the SJHL website.
