The Flin Flon Bombers did not start their three game road trip off with a win.
In the team's first of three games in three nights, the Bombers got one point, but not two against Melville, losing 2-1 in a shootout to the Millionaires.
Montana Streit started the scoring for Melville in the first. Streit's goal was the only of the game until the third, when former midget teammates Brandson Hein and Nate Hooper teamed up to get the Bombers on the board. Hooper's goal was the game-tying tally heading into overtime.
Overtime solved nothing, so the shootout commenced. The Bombers could not solve Mils goalie Colby Entz on five attempts, while Eric Soar got the game-winner for Melville in the fifth round.
Bomber netminder Brenden Newton stopped 21 pucks, but didn't get the win - Entz, with 26 saves, earned the coveted W.
The Bombers, who now sit in ninth in the league with 37 points, have one of the SJHL's worst overtime records. The maroon and white have only one win in eight tries in the extra frame and have lost all four shootouts the team has played.
Flin Flon will hope to get back to winning ways on Friday and Saturday, when the Bombers visit Yorkton and Humboldt.
