The Flin Flon Bombers were the first team to complete a deal this week before last night's December 1 roster cutting deadline. Teams across Canada had until midnight last night to cut back to 25 carded players. At press time last night, it was announced that forward Joey Moggach had been moved to the Dauphin Kings. In return the Bombers get 19-year-old forward Jordy Black and future considerations. Black had six goals and three assists for nine points in 28 games with the Kings so far this season, along with 67 penalty minutes. He is listed as a 6'1, 210 Ibs. left winger from Winnipeg, Manitoba Moggach had four goals and 10 assists for 14 points and 89 penalty minutes in 27 games with the Bombers. The Bombers have added some grit and granted Kyle Holmes his wish to play closer to home, moving him to the Kindersley Klippers in exchange for a pair of 18-year-old forwards. In exchange for Holmes, the Bombers receive Mackenzie Groenwegen and Ronald Marcoux as well as future considerations. Holmes left the Bombers a month ago when the team acquired Donovan Hall from the La Ronge Ice Wolves. Holmes had one goal and five assists in 17 games, as well as 50 penalty minutes. Last season he had four goals and 16 assists in 50 games with 164 penalty minutes. Marcoux had one goal and three assists in 23 games with the Klippers, along with 37 penalty minutes. Groenwegen has only seen action in five games with Kindersley this season, scoring one goal. The 6'4, 206 Ibs forward had 13 goals and 14 assists in 44 games with Battlefords 'AAA' Midget program last season. "We're real happy with how this has worked out for us," said head coach and general manager Ryan Hoffman. "Marcoux was a guy we noticed the first time we played them this year. He's a hard nosed, physical right winger, who will probably fit in on a line with Dupre and McKinna. He plays with a real edge." Hoffman also added that the team has been trying to acquire Groenwegen for a few weeks now. "He's a very talented centre," said Hoffman. "He handles the puck well and sees the ice well. As big as he is, he's just gotten better and better through his midget career. He has the potential to be a big time junior guy down the road." The Bombers also picked up a list player, to be determined at a later date.
