The Flin Flon Bombers are continuing to retool in the off season with two significant signings. The Bombers are pleased to announce the commitment of 1990-born forward Mathieu Lecours (pronounced Le-cure) from the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves and 1990 born defenseman Frank Riddle of St. Catharines ON. Lecours was the second leading scorer in the Great North Midget League with 38 goals and 44 assists in 31 games. HeÕs the second player from the Telus Cup winning Nickel Capital Wolves to commit to playing in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Earlier this month, Telus Cup leading scorer Deven Stillar (17-18-16-34), who led the Telus Cup in scoring (15-pts in seven games), signed with Melfort. At the Telus Cup, Lecours, who also served as SudburyÕs captain, was named the tournamentÕs Top Forward. Riddle, 6Õ0Ó 155 lbs, played at Stanstead Prep School (in Quebec) last season and had five goals and 29 assists in 51 games. Head Coach and GM Mike Reagan says the speedy blueliner is similar to homegrown product Tanner Korchinski, whoÕs also expected to make an impact as an SJHL rookie this season with the Bombers. Riddle also had 109 penalty minutes.
