Bombers coach and GM Mike Reagan says the team has "a "steady stay-at-home defenseman" in Tyler Mar. The 20-year-old Lloydminster native, standing 6 ft. 3 in., joined the Bombers for his first game yesterday in Humboldt. Before leaving on the road trip, Reagan said the new addition brings experience and help to the back end. "We're excited about adding him," said Reagan. "He'll be a good addition for us." With a fairly young back end this season, Reagan says it's good to add another 20-year-old player. Mar took up the blueline with David Roper for his first game as a Bomber last night. Reagan said, Tuesday morning that he won't be able to fully judge Mar's ability until later this week. "It will be difficult to assess him until we have some practice time with him," said Reagan. "But he should fit in nicely." The Bombers hit the road last night in Humboldt and are in Melfort tonight to take on the Mustangs. Next on the docket, the Bombers will host the Broncos Friday night at the Whitney Forum. "I think that we're excited to see Humboldt," said Reagan prior to yesterday's game. As for the Mustangs, the coach said he was looking forward to tonight's game. "I'm excited about playing some North teams for once," said the coach. Reagan says he has been curious about the Broncos and that last night would "be a good test for our hockey club." Since the Broncos have had trouble in recent games, the coach says he knows they will be hungry. "It's one of those things, are we catching them at a good time or...are they going to be really hungry and ready to play?" said the coach. Going into last night's game, played after The Reminder's press deadline, the Bombers had full intention of being physical with the Broncos. The Bombers planned on using their bigger size against the home team.
