Flin Flon Bomber Reid MacLeod will be representing the area as he was chosen to participate in the Heartland Credit Union CJAHL Prospects game, which will be held December 11-12 in Winkler, MB. According to the SJHL website, MacLeod is a model of consistency, who laid claim to the SJHL Rookie of the Year Award in 2006-07. This season, MacLeod has been red hot from the opening gate to the present, leading the SJHL in scoring. He's been held off the scoresheet only five times all season. "Reid is not a natural goal scorer. He gets most of his goals from playing a power game down low. He works extremely hard and has a great deal of on-ice intelligence," says Bomber Head Coach Mike Reagan. "His commitment to overall team success through his own hard work is really impressive," added Reagan. MacLeod is a huge contributor to his team's offence, factoring in on 51 of 109 team goals, which accounts for 47 per cent of Flin Flon's total production, notes the SJHL website. Amongst his season highlights, MacLeod had two hat tricks, two four-point games, and a seven point game so far in 2007-08. MacLeod's stats for the season as of November 29 are as follows: 27 GP 29 G 23 A 52 PTS 54 PIM For the 2006-07 season MacLeod's stats were: 58 GP 24 G 37 A 61 PTS 121 PIM Joining the Tuelon, MB, native in the game will be Taylor Nelson, a goalie with the Humboldt Broncos, who is from Regina. Rylan Schwartz, a forward with the Notre Dame Hounds, who is from Wilcox, SK and David Lawrence, also a forward who plays for the La Ronge Ice Wolves and is originally from Calgary. The CJAHL Prospects Game was first played two seasons ago in Yorkton and it drew an astronomical amount of attention from NHL Central Scouting as well as from the National Hockey League. It features some of the best talent Junior 'A' hockey has to ever, pitting players from Canada East against players from Canada West.
