The Bombers' main camp is set for Friday as roughly 60 hopeful players will be on the ice to skate their hearts out. In hopes of donning the Maroon and White jersey, players will be showing their skills to head coach and GM Mike Reagan along with the rest of the coaching staff and others on the ice. From there, the Bombers will host their annual Maroon and White game Sunday afternoon at the Whitney Forum. As well, the team will be preparing for their first home exhibition game of the season next Friday against the Swan Valley Stampeders. The first preseason game will be Monday in Swan River. Following the exhibition games, the Bombers will be hosting the Melfort Mustangs on Saturday, September 19 for their home opener. To kick off the event, the team will be having a mini carnival in the parking lot of the Whitney Forum. To entice the adults, there will be a beer garden along with hamburgers and hot dogs, while the children will have an opportunity to play on inflatable jumping toys and have their faces painted. Reagan says he is hoping the event will help to bring in a bigger crowd for the home opener Ð as it is the official start to the season. The coach is hoping to see between 1,600 and 2,000 people in the Whitney Forum cheering on the Flin Flon Bombers. In previous years, Reagan says the organization has had tailgate parties, but he says, this is something different Ð and for all ages.
