Bomber forward Reid Robertson has a chance at winning an SJHL award.
The 20-year-old forward has earned a nod as a nominee for the SJHL’s Community Ambassador award, the second time in as many seasons that he’s earned the honour. The Winnipeg native was one of 12 SJHL players nominated, one from each team.
Robertson’s playing days as a Bomber are done, but during his time in Flin Flon, Robertson worked as a mentor with the Flin Flon School Division (FFSD) and was an instructor for the FFSD’s hockey academy program and the Flin Flon Xtreme Hockey School. In the offseason, Robertson would also work with the Edge of Excellence hockey camp in his hometown. When the Bombers attended local events, Robertson was almost always present, particularly at children’s activities like community skates.
On the ice, Robertson played parts of three seasons with the Bombers, racking up 32 points in 52 games with the Bombers in the 2019-20 season. Going into the 2020-21 season, Robertson was named an assistant captain with the team as play began and played two games with the Bombers before the season was halted and - eventually - cancelled.
The winner of the Community Ambassador award will be determined by a fan vote on the SJHL’s Twitter page - the poll can be found @theSJHL.
