Not every Bomber game can end well for the Whitney Forum crowd. Tuesday night's game went down as an L for the Bombers, losing 4-1 to division rivals Nipawin.

The game started out well enough for the Bombers, with Cole Duperreault opening the scoring for Flin Flon on a shot that deflected in off Nipawin goalie Chase Hamm's stick. That early lead, obtained about five minutes into the game, would prove to be the high point for Flin Flon.

Christian Albertson tied the game up for the Hawks moments later on a rebound, then Rylan Lefebvre scored what would prove to be the game-winner with a partial break snap-shot over Bomber 'keeper Cal Schell's glove.

Brody Wilson added an insurance marker at the halfway point of the game, deflecting a point shot past Schell. Cole Beamin put the icing on the cake late with an empty-netter from way downtown.

Neither team produced much offense, but Hamm got the dub, making 30 saves, while Schell made 21 stops in a losing effort.

The Bombers' defence did manage to keep the red-hot Phil Laberge off the board - Laberge ended opening weekend with a whopping seven points, enough to tie him for the league lead, but the Quebecois forward was left off the scoresheet.

Flin Flon will next hit the ice as part of a four-game-in-five-day stretch - first hitting the road for a home-and-home with La Ronge, playing the away game Oct. 1 before coming back to Flin Flon Oct. 2, then heading south to Warman for the SJHL Showcase. The Bombers will play at 8:30 p.m. Manitoba time Oct. 4 against Yorkton before playing a Tuesday matinee game against Kindersley at 2:30 p.m Oct. 5.
