This one wasn't a close game at all.

The Bombers took it to the Notre Dame Hounds at the Forum Saturday night, winning by a lopsided 9-3 score.

Flin Flon laid into Notre Dame netminder Austin Elliott early and often, getting three goals from Jeremi Tremblay, Cole Duperreault and Mason Kaspick in the first period alone. Elliot Dutil ruined Bomber goalie Max Hildebrand's shutout bid late in the first and Phil Fath brought the Hounds within one, but the Bombers took over in the second half of the game.

First came a goal by Brett Wieschorster - then, a few minutes later, another one by Xavier Lapointe. Cole Vardy then added another, and while Caden Scott gave the Doggies their own goal, it was still 6-3 after 40.

Three more goals came in the final frame, all from the Bombers. Ethan McColm, 14 games deep into his junior career, scored his first goal as a Bomber, then Lapointe added a second. Kylynn Olafson put a cherry on top of the rout with a powerplay goal with moments remaining, giving the Bombers the final lead and a 9-3 win.

Hildebrand made 26 stops on the night, while Elliott stayed in Notre Dame's goal for the entire game and didn't even get the mercy yank, making 37 saves but also giving up nine goals - a save percentage barely above .800.

The Bombers stay in fourth in the league standings with 28 points, behind Humboldt (34 points), Estevan (31) and Battlefords (30). In total points percentage, the Bombers are ahead of the Stars in third place in the league.

Flin Flon will have their toughest test at home yet this season, playing the Estevan Bruins Friday and Saturday night at the Whitney Forum. The Bruins won the only game between the two teams 3-1 earlier this year.
