That's another W for Flin Flon. The Bombers grabbed a divisional win Tuesday night in Nipawin, beating the Hawks 3-2.

The Bombers hit the ice at the Centennial Arena for the first time since the Hawks parted ways with long-time head coach Doug Johnson. With new bench boss Tad Kozun at the helm, the Hawks and Bombers stayed deadlocked for the entire first half of the game.

Mackenzie Carson broke the Bombers' goose-egg halfway through the second, beating Hawks netminder Harmon Laser-Hume to give Flin Flon a 1-0 lead. Braxton Buckberger did the same for the Hawks five minutes later, getting one by Cal Schell to tie the game heading into the second intermission.

The Bombers walked away with the game in the third. Jacob Vockler, fresh off being named the runner-up for SJHL rookie of the week, picked up his seventh of the season on a powerplay to get the lead. Matt Raymond handled business later in the period, scoring an insurance marker. Alex Johnson scored in the final moments for Nipawin, but it was too little, too late for Nipawin.

Schell had a quiet night in the Bombers' net, making 19 saves. Laser-Hume stopped 33 shots but still got stuck with the L.

A couple of Bombers hit the showers early, according to the SJHL's game sheet of the matchup. Cole Duperreault was assessed with two and a game for a check from behind in the second period, while Matt Egan got the same in the third for an illegal head check.

The Bombers will return to Flin Flon for a weekend series against Weyburn Friday and Saturday.
