After struggling to score against the Kindersley Klippers in their previous two games, it seemed that everyone on the Flin Flon Bombers roster was hitting the scoreboard against the Yorkton Terriers this past weekend.
Only four Bombers who suited up for the two games didn’t get at least one point. With 15 goals over the two games, that’s a maximum 45 points to share. Many players had a multi-point weekend.
Heading into last night’s game in Nipawin, the Bombers had eight wins and only one regulation loss in their last 10 games. Their record stood at 23-8-5-5.
The Bombers were one point behind the Hawks. A regulation win would be huge. If the playoffs started today, the winner of last night’s game would have home ice advantage in the first round.

It was good to see third-string goaltender Conner Slipp get a few minutes of action on the weekend.
When the Bombers acquired Adam Beukeboom earlier this season, head coach Mike Reagan gave Slipp the option to stay with the team or be sent to Junior B.
Beukeboom has been out for the last week with an injury, so Slipp got to back up Simon Hofley against the Yorkton Terriers.
With the game out of hand in the third period on Friday, Mike rewarded Slipp’s dedication to the team by putting him in net for the final 10 minutes.

The Bombers are on the road this week, starting off with a huge game in Nipawin last night.
It’s always important to start off a long road trip with a win. If you get the two points, it takes a lot of the pressure off for the rest of the trip.
Last night’s game could be seen as a preview of the first round of the playoffs for Flin Flon, and every game lately has had a playoff feel to it.
Have you noticed that there is a lot more tension on the ice, no matter who seems to be playing? Fighting majors have increased in frequency this month, too.
Tonight’s game against Estevan will also be an interesting one.
The Bruins were struggling and found themselves selling off their graduating talent to the highest bidder at the Jan. 10 trade deadline.
Much like the Bombers themselves last year, the Bruins are fighting for their playoff lives. They will be a dangerous team down the stretch.

Friday, Feb. 6 is a day to mark on your calendar. It’s being dubbed “Hockey Day in Flin Flon” and Hudbay is paying the admission for anyone who comes to watch the Bombers on that day.
It’s important that we support our team every chance we get, and this time the best seat in town won’t cost you a dime! It’s time for everyone to come out and support your team. Wear white and cheer loud!
