Welcome to the first installment of “Bomber Beat.”
Once you get past the obligatory cheeseball use of alliteration in the name, I hope you will come to find this column a valuable source of information for all things Bomber-related.
Why Bomber Beat? Well, there are a couple of possible explanations.
I had a lot of “B” words to choose from that would have made similar sense, such as Bulletin, Bits or Banter.
I chose Beat because my goal is for this column to focus on the heartbeat of the team. I’ve made a commitment to have my finger on the Bomber pulse for the entire season, start to finish, and I’m excited to be joining
Jonathon and Kelly and the
rest of The Reminder staff to bring you the most complete local
coverage possible.
It’s hard to believe that 10 years have gone by since I last covered the Bombers for The Reminder.
You will have to forgive me, I’m a little rusty right now, but I promise you that this year is going to be great.
Reporting is kind of like
riding a bike in the sense that you don’t really forget how. It’s mostly instinct, and for that I’m
thankful.
So what do we have to look forward to this season?
I’m going to take you behind the scenes to give you a glimpse of what being a part of the Flin Flon Bombers is all about. We’ll talk to players and coaches, past and present, and find out what it takes to be a Flin Flon Bomber.
I’m passionate about the
Flin Flon Bombers, and it is a privilege to be back in the crease of this newspaper.
