Three brothers are vying for a spot on the Flin Flon Bombers this season. Returning Bomber Brett Boehm brought to training camp his two younger brothers, Carson and Dawson. Brett will play his final season in the SJHL this year before aging out. Carson will just be entering the league, hopefully, leaving Dawson a few years behind. The three brothers tried out for the team together this season _ a first for Bomber head coach and GM Mike Reagan. 'Brett, obviously, is a great player and Carson is going to be a great player for us,' said Reagan. 'And then we're really excited about Dawson.' Of course there's no guarantee Carson will earn a roster spot this season, but Reagan likes what he sees. 'If it's not this year, Carson will be playing with us next year,' said a confident Reagan. All three Boehm brothers have secured spots with the Bombers, but due to age will never be able to play together in Maroon and White. 'It would have been real nice if it was possible to have all three of them to play together at the same time,' said Reagan. 'That would have been pretty cool and special for the family.' The Bombers may still see two Boehm brothers on the ice in two seasons. With Carson having a shot at this year's team, he and Brett could dress together. And as Brett ages out of the SJHL, Carson and Dawson could eventually play on the same team. Either way, Reagan says it's 'pretty neat' to have the brothers under one roof for the main camp. 'We're obviously very happy we were able to get all three guys protected,' he said.
