The Southeast Blades have added more instant credibility to their coaching staff with the announcement of Ray Neufeld jumping on board as an assistant coach/marketing director. The former NHLer begins his new position in a couple of weeks. Neufeld played upwards of 600 games in the National Hockey League with Hartford, Winnipeg, and Boston. In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Blades state that Neufeld's experience is invaluable from a technical perspective and will establish further an excellent coaching staff. "It's vitally important that our players have every opportunity to learn those aspects of the game needed to achieve success. And, it's even more important to have them taught by someone who has walked the walk," said Southeast Governor Mike Fontaine. "We think that Mr. Neufeld's experience is an important element that our players need to learn from so that hockey can take them as far as they want to go." Neufeld's junior hockey playing history includes stints with the Flin Flon Bombers and Edmonton Oil Kings.
