University of Manitoba Bisons Men's Hockey head coach Mike Sirant is pleased to announce that three members of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League champion Selkirk Steelers will attend the University of Manitoba this fall. Sirant, announced that forwards Dustin Hughes, Kyle Ladobruk, and James Marquis will attend the Bison's main training camp in September. Marquis, a 6'1" 195-lb power forward finished second on the Steelers in scoring this season with 69 points in 52 games and was one of the team's best performers in the play-off run to the Anavet Cup final, while Hughes is a slick centreman who is able to generate offense quickly and creatively. Ladobruk meanwhile is a big, tough grinding winger who brings a physical presence to the ice every night. The OCN Blizzard will also be well represented at this year's training camp by Everett Bear, a 6'2" power forward, goalie Marc Andre LeClerc, forward Mike Young, and defenseman Jared Lang who have also committed to the University of Manitoba. See 'OCN' P.# Con't from P.# Bear, a native of Whitewood, SK will bring an immediate physical presence to the Bison line-up this fall along with a decent scoring touch. The 6'2" 215-lb winger had 56 points in 59 games this past season along with 192 PIMS. Michael Young finished with 87 points in 57 games this past season and over the course of the last five years with the Blizzard, the 5'8" 175-lb sparkplug tallied 310 points in 254 games. The three Steelers and four Blizzard members join other top prospects from the MJHL who have also accepted invitations to the Bison's training camp; Goaltender Cole Leitch - Winnipeg South Blues; Forward Matt Wheatley - Winnipeg South Blues; Forward Derek Hooper - Winnipeg South Blues; Forward Shaun McIvor - Swan Valley Stampeders; Defenseman Garrett Fitzpatrick - Portage Terriers; Defenseman Jordan Oakley - Swan Valley Stampeders11/6/04
