Submitted by Creighton Community School Once again, Creighton Community School is offering their bike safety program for Kindergarten to Grade 3 students. This week, students will be learning the rules about biking safely in their community as well as practicing on a course. The program will end with the students taking a test on the various skills they have learned. The bike safety program has three components Ð instruction in the classroom about helmets turn signals, traffic laws and other safety information, practice and testing, and a parent/community component, whereby parents and community members can acknowledge students for practicing good bike safety by giving them a coupon to be entered into a draw for a bike at an assembly. Parents are encouraged to reinforce what their children are learning at school with regard to safety. A letter has been sent home to parents outlining the rules and information regarding the week's activities. Community support has helped the Bike safety program to continue to be a valuable experience for students.5/16/2011
