Homemade hamburgers and hotdogs helped generate $4,000 for a local organization over the weekend.
Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program reaped the benefits from hungry supporters on Saturday.
The sale of the burgers, hotdogs, drinks, chips and raffle tickets brought in $1,560. Following the sale, Canadian Tire contributed to the final total and pushed the donations over $4,000.
“Jumpstart is Canadian Tire’s corporate charity whose goal is to lend financial support to children who may otherwise be unable to play sports,” read a media release from Canadian Tire.
Local children interested in sport, who may not otherwise have the opportunity to play, will now have more support in the community.
“One-hundred per cent of all proceeds [are] going towards getting local [children] into sports,” read the release.
