The Flin Flon Bantam 'AA' Bombers travelled to Swan River on December 4 and 5 to participate in a two game exhibition series with the Swan River Bantam 'AA' Stampeders and the Dauphin Bantam 'AA' Kings. The Bombers left Flin Flon by bus at 6:00 a.m. and only had a short time to prepare for their morning game against the Swan River team. It was apparent that the Bombers were suffering from a bad case of "bus legs", as they dropped their first game of the season by a score of 7-2 to the Swan River Stampeders. Scoring for the Bombers were Tanner Korchinski with an unassisted effort and Ryan Fox, assisted by Jordan Crone and Lyle Leclair. The Bombers then took a short lunch break and took on the Dauphin Kings Bantam 'AA' team early in the afternoon. The Bombers came out flying in the first period having found their legs and ability to move the puck. It was 4-1 Bombers after the first frame. In the second period the Bombers really exploded outscoring their Dauphin rivals 6-1 and adding four more unanswered goals in the third period for a 14-2 romp over their southern rivals. The win now gives the Bombers a win/loss record of 9 and 1 on the season. Ryan Fox led the way for the Bombers with two goals and four assists followed by Aaron Bauman with two goals and two assists. Lyle Leclair scored two goals and added one assist and Nick Hamilton and Wes Gawiak each chipped in a goal and two assists. Tanner Korchinski scored two goals, with one goal and one assist each going to Owen Woloshyn, Calvin Cairns and Jordan Crone. Corey Dupre chipped in with two assists while Landon Rowe scored a single and Greg Kritzer rounded out the points parade with one assist. The Bombers took their enviable record to Prince Albert December 10-12 where they participated in the annual 24-team tournament. This was a very good test for the Bombers, as they played Saskatchewan's best. The tournament results will be published later this week.
