It was another banner weekend for Flin Flon Minor Hockey teams.
Both the bantam AA Bombers and the atom AA Bombers earned spots at this year’s provincial tournaments this past weekend.
The bantam Bombers earned their provincial slot on home ice, going undefeated through four games. Flin Flon defeated The Pas 5-2 in their first game, following up with a 14-1 shellacking of Thompson and a 13-2 win over Cross Lake.
Facing The Pas once again in the finals, the Bombers never let off the throttle, beating the Huskies 7-3 for tournament glory.
Owen Slugoski and Keilan Holland led the way for the Bombers, scoring 12 points each in four games. The team will head to bantam AA provincial tournament to be held in La Broquerie in March.
The atom AA Bombers also earned a provincial berth after a strong performance at provincial playdowns in The Pas, joining the Huskies in the tournament final. Flin Flon earned two wins and a tie to get into a qualifying spot.
The atom Bombers will now play in Stonewall from March 3-5.
