The Hapnot Badminton Club hosted their first annual "Burn off the Bird" Bash at Hapnot Collegiate this past weekend. Thirty local badminton players competed in the two-day community event, which was open to players from 12 to adult. The event was such a "smashing" success that plans are being made to host a second local tournament in March. As a reminder to all badminton players, the NorMan Regional Games Badminton tournament coming up in The Pas on Jan 22nd-24th. This is open to Under 18 and Under 14 players wishing to compete for a spot on the regional team that will be playing at the Manitoba Games at Portage La Prairie in March. It is also open to adult players that want to play recreationally. Registrations for this tournament should be mailed by January 13th to Jaimie Leary at 677-6862. Application forms are available online or through the Flin Flon Recreation Department.
