The Whitney Forum was home to the Atom A Provincial Playoffs last weekend as teams from Flin Flon, Portage, Morden, The Pas, Thompson, Dauphin and Steinbach were in town battling it out. Although the Bombers didnÕt come in first place, hockey mom Nara Black says everyone was having fun throughout the weekend. The Bombers played their first game against Morden, and had a close game of 3-2, for Morden. Next it was The Pas, but the Bombers werenÕt able to get a goal as The Pas came out on top 6-0 for the win. And the teamÕs final game was against Dauphin, but the team was unable to pull a win either as they lost 2-0. The home team came out in fourth place with zero points, but as Black pointed out, it was just a lot of fun for everyone. Going into the playoffs, for the Black group, The Pas sat with six points, Dauphin A with four, Morden with two and Flin Flon with zero. The White group had Steinbach with two points, while Portage, Dauphin B and Thompson all sat with one point. The Pas and Portage started things off Sunday morning for the first place versus second place, in each group. The Pas came out on top. Next up was Steinbach and Dauphin A, the Kings, with Steinbach taking the win. Morden and Dauphin B, the Screaming Kings, fought for the Consolation final Sunday afternoon. But it was Morden who took the win. The Bronze Medal game saw Portage and the Dauphin Kings fighting for third place. And it was the Kings who walked away with the bronze. The finals had The Pas taking on Steinbach where Steinbach took the gold with an 11-2 win.
