Submitted by SJHL Player of the Week Sean Aschim Melville Millionaires 1992 F Sean Aschim (Saskatoon SK) is off on the right foot in the post-Christmas schedule as he tallied three goals and five assists in four games played from the period of December 30-January 6. The Millionaires were 3-0-and-1 in those four games and are, once again, a factor for first place in the Sherwood Division. His biggest game was on Saturday night when he scored once and set up four others in a win over the Estevan Bruins. For the season, he has 15 goals and 22 assists in 38 games, which ranks tenth overall in league scoring. Defenseman of the Week Chase Norrish Yorkton Terriers 1993 D Chase Norrish (Strongfield SK) was electric in the first game back from the Christmas Break, scoring a hat-trick on December 30th against the Melville Millionaires, including a thrilling overtime winner. Norrish finished the period with five points in three games played and now has six goals and nine assists in 36 games this season. Norrish is one of a number of Terrier defensemen who like to join the offensive rush. Yorkton has three of the top fifteen scoring blueliners in the league. Rookie of the Week Daniel Orsborn Melville Millionaires 1993 F Daniel Orsborn (Brighton CO USA) is a 19-year-old SJHL rookie playing a depth role on a team with loads of veteran offensive skill; but Orsborn carved out a nice first week back on the ice after Christmas as he scored three goals and three assists in four games played. Orsborn, who played last year with the Colorado Thunderbirds U18 team, has six goals and seven assists in 26 games overall this season. Goaltender of the Week Connor Creech Battlefords North Stars 1992 G Connor Creech (Lloydminster AB) ended the pre-Christmas schedule on a downer as he was injured in a game against the Nipawin Hawks in mid-December; but he returned to post back to back wins in the New Year, starting with Friday's home ice decision over Weyburn. One night later, he made 38 saves in a close 2-1 win over Nipawin. Creech is now 15-and-10 on the season with a 2.50 GAA and .908 SP.
