The La Ronge Ice Wolves have acquired 18-year-old defenseman Cooper Ryan from the AJHL's Bonnyville Pontiacs in exchange for 20-year-old defenseman Greg Copeland. Ryan is a 6'1", 200 Ibs product of Arcola and had one goal and two assists in 19 games with the Pontiacs this season. He also had 20 penalty minutes. Copeland was in his second season with La Ronge and had played 21 games with no goals and two assists. He also had 45 penalty minutes. The Yorkton Terriers have acquired 20-year-old defenseman Justin Crawford from the Antigonish Bulldogs of the Maritime Junior Hockey League for future considerations. The 6'0", 190 Ibs native of Medicine Hat AB had one goal and nine assists in 16 games with the Bulldogs this season. He was expected to be in the line-up for Yorkton's first post-Christmas game December 30th against Melville. Melfort Mustang forward Jeff Hajner has announced his intent to attend Air Force and play for their NCAA Division I hockey team beginning in 2006-07. The 5'10", 193 Ibs native of Las Vegas NV currently has 12 goals and 17 assists in 35 games this season. He had 16 goals and 17 assists in 46 games during his rookie season of 2003-04. It's believed Hajner is the first player to come through the minor hockey system in Las Vegas to make it to the NCAA. The Notre Dame Hounds are looking for a Head Coach/General Manager after learning Rene Lemire accepted a job to be an Assistant Coach in Moose Jaw with the Western Hockey League's Warriors on Wednesday morning. Lemire had been with the Hounds since 2000.Ê Prior to Notre Dame, he was a Head Coach in the Norwegian Elite League for six seasons and also spent six years in the loop as a player. There is no immediate word of a replacement for Lemire, a two-time SJHL Coach of the Year. The Hounds enter the second half of the season trailing first place Estevan by seven points in the Sherwood Conference standings.
