In the SJHL on Friday, the Estevan Bruins had an easy time with the La Ronge Ice Wolves, beating them 8-2. Dominic Cote and Kyle Pellerin each had a pair of goals and an assist to lead the way for the Bruins, who went 1/3 on the power play. La Ronge was perfect on the power play, scoring two goals on two chances. The Nipawin Hawks increased their lead over Flin Flon and La Ronge for fourth place in the Dodge Conference with a 4-2 win over the Yorkton Terriers. Nipawin scored three times in the third period, out shooting Yorkton 17-5 in the process. Both teams were held scoreless on six power play opportunities. On Saturday, the Yorkton Terriers beat the Kindersley Klippers 6-1, led by Trent Cassan's three point night, including a pair of goals. Justin Keller had a goal and two assists, and Jason Wagner contributed three assists. The Weyburn Red Wings needed overtime to get by the La Ronge Ice Wolves 5-4. Donovan Hall tied the game for La Ronge late in the third period, but Greg Park stole the extra point with a goal at 2:45 of the extra frame. The Melville Millionaires didn't do the Bombers and favours, as they lost 6-5 to the Nipawin Hawks. Alex Cote had three goals for Nipawin, including the game winner on a power-play with four seconds left in regulation time. Nipawin scored three power-play goals on four chances, while Melville score twice on three tries. Two games had to be rescheduled do to extreme weather warnings in southern Saskatchewan. Friday night's contest between Notre Dame and Weyburn has been re-scheduled to Monday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. The game to be played between Kindersley and Humboldt on Friday has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m.
