The Canadian Junior 'A' Hockey League recognized Weyburn Red Wing Head Coach Dwight McMillan's remarkable feat of 900 career regular season wins prior to Friday night's game with the Humboldt Broncos. Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League President Laury Ryan, CJAHL President Marty Knack, and Weyburn Red Wing Governor/President Winston Bailey presented McMillan with an official Certificate of Recognition to commemorate the achievement reached by virtue of last Sunday's 5-3 decision over the Melville Millionaires. McMillan also received a two-foot statue of a hockey player with the inscription 'In Honour of Dwight McMillan's 900th Win 1972-2004'. Scholarship The Notre Dame Hounds have announced that Matthew Werry has accepted a four year scholarship to Holy Cross of the NCAA Division I. This Notre Dame Hound becomes the fourth member of his team to achieve the accomplishment this season. Rylan Kaip (North Dakota), Sasha Pokulok (Cornell), and Andrew Gordon (St. Cloud) are the other players moving on to Division I calibre hockey after this season. The 6'1, 188 lb Regina native has been a clutch player for the Hounds this season with 22 goals and 20 assists in 48 games. He leads the team in powerplay goals with twelve and in game winners with five. As a 19 year-old, Werry had 27 goals and 14 assists in 58 games. Suspension Defenceman Rod Sundquist of the Battlefords North Stars has been suspended for three games as a result of receiving a Match penalty during the game on February 18 against the Nipawin Hawks. He will sit out the games of February 20, 21 and 24.
