Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Don't forget that in motion's Health Challenge gets underway on Monday. Teams of four to six adults are encouraged to sign up for the community-wide challenge. It's a new year _ why not get a fresh start?! The Health Challenge promotes all things healthy in the form of eating properly, drinking enough water, sleeping the right amount and physical activity. But it's not just about eating healthy _ it's so much more. The local committee encourages residents to be more physically active and to find new ways to improve themselves. The six-week challenge promotes a healthier version of you. Weight loss is sometimes a bonus when participants sign up and follow the rules, but the challenge is not based on who can lose the most. Becoming a healthier you is the message the committee hopes to send to the community. This challenge is open to those in Flin Flon, Creighton, Denare Beach, and area. Family? Though it is only open to adults, why not make it a family challenge? Encourage your children to participate in your home with your own version of the challenge. You can all learn about a healthier lifestyle together. While part of the challenge offers some food education, the challenge also highlights physical activity as well as opportunities available in the community. The challenge still comes with the ticky sheet to keep track of your week's progress, but the committee has made some changes this year. There won't be any bonus points this year. Open to Health Challenge participants only, there will be cooking classes, learning to snowshoe, Zumba, a guided cross-country ski, a week access to the Flin Flon Aqua Centre facilities, and classes at Sal's Fitness. And the committee knows gathering the points and taking charge of your team can be hectic, so this year there will be a team captain draw. Again this year, the grand prize for the Health Challenge is $1,000 cash!
