The Flin Flon Aqua Jets are gracing the pool with a new look when it comes to their swim caps. The metallic colours and the new logo will go a long way when it comes to competing, which is something the Aqua Jets are hoping to do this year. Returning head coach Mark Fenske says the swimmers get a sense of belonging when they join the Aqua Jets. "A lot of people think swimming is an individual sport, but it's really a team sport." He says it lets them belong to a team, "which is really good for them." Fenske says he keeps coming back because he grew up in the Aqua Jets and it was "the most fun I've ever had." And he says, "I wanted to help promote health and fitness and give other people the opportunity to have fun." The Aqua Jets in the Wave 1 program swim four times a week, while the Wave 2 group swims three times a week. Both Wave 1 and Wave 2 are in the competitive stage of swimming. Pre-competetive programs are also available, allowing the swimmers to be in the water twice a week. The Jets will get their first taste of competition at the end of October when they make their way to Brandon for the first meet of the season.
