The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League is pleased to see another former player win the Stanley Cup. When the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Philadelphia Flyers Wednesday night, it assured Hawk defenseman Jordan Hendry of receiving a ring in addition to getting his name on the holy grail. Hendry toiled with the Battlefords North Stars as a 17-year-old before heading to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks on a scholarship. He made his NHL debut with Chicago in 2007 and became a fixture on the Hawk blueline this season. Hendry joins the likes of Chris Kunitz (Melville), Chris Chelios (Moose Jaw), Rod Brind'amour (Notre Dame), Ruslan Fedotenko (Melfort), Brad Richards (Notre Dame), and Willie Mitchell (Melfort) as SJHL alumni who have hoisted Lord Stanley in the last few years.
