The 17th annual Cranberry Portage Trout Challenge has come and gone. It was another fantastic year with good fishing, good friends and a few new faces. The anticipation is over, as 42 teams hit Lake Athapapuskow on August 5 and 6 to compete for the coveted Trout Challenge trophy as well as the guaranteed first, second and third place cash prizes. Greatest Comeback Ð Wickens and Reagan with 67.5" more on Sunday than on Saturday. Youngest Angler Ð Tanner Barbeau, 7. Furthest Away Ð Marty and Mandi Dushanek, who came from 1,400 km away. Family Fish Ð Marty and Mandi Dushanek (father and daughter) Husband and Wife Team Ð Jill and Clint Bickel Largest Fish Saturday Ð Joby Nomeland (length: 38") Largest Fish Sunday Ð Marty Dushanek (length: 40") Marty Dushanek also picked up the Largest Overall Fish for the weekend and won a "Master Angler Team" Jacket. Anderson and Lundie won the John Moodie Memorial Trophy, which is awarded annually to the highest placing Cranberry Portage team. Mandi Dushanek won the Candace Danielson Memorial Trophy (new this year), which is awarded to the woman that lands the largest trout. This prize also includes a 2007 Trout Challenge Team Entry.
