The Weekend to End Breast Cancer was the perfect way to support a loved one. Joining thousands of supporters in Edmonton, one team travelled a little farther than others. Straile's Angels Ð a team made up of a few locals as well as some out of town family Ð have been participating in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer since 2007. And now, the family is back at it for another year of fundraising. Tomorrow afternoon, Straile's Angels will be at The Unwinder with a penny parade, meat draw and even a 50/50 draw to help bring in a few extra bucks for the walk. As well as their own fundraising, the bar will be donating a portion of domestic and highball drink sales. The Weekend to End Breast Cancer, which helps bring in money and awareness for the disease, is held in a number of different locations across Canada Ð with the Edmonton one close to one local family's heart. Starting off their tradition in 2007, the team continued on to the 2008 walk, despite losing their loved one two weeks before the walk. This year, the family is back at it for another year of fundraising. It started with a family member in need. Breast cancer touched the Straile family and left them no option but to help in whatever way they could. Then Straile's Angels came to be Ð a group to help raise money for not only their family, but also those whose families have been touched with the disease.
