On Wednesday night, the Yorkton Terriers clawed their way back into the Anavet Cup playoffs, tying the series 2-2 by edging their Portage rivals. Game five was set for last night, with results unavailable at press time. Game six will be played at Portage la Prairie on Saturday night and game seven, if necessary is set for Sunday, also in Portage. Wednesday's game in Yorkton continued to show just how close these two teams are, as they battle for the right to enter the Royal Bank Cup national playdowns on May 7. The teams were tied 1-1 after the first period, there was no scoring in the second, and Yorkton notched the only goal of the third, to take the game 2-1. Skrabek and Garbutt scored for the hometown Terriers, while Reykdal was the goal scorer for Portage. Portage had the edge in shots-on-goal, 31-23, with Yorkton going 2/5 on the powerplay and Portage laying a goose egg in this department, 0/7.
