There were three games in the SJHL on Tuesday night. After losing two consecutive games, the Melville Millionaires rebounded with a 5-3 win over the Battlefords' North Stars. Shawn Langen had two goals for the Millionaires and Matt Stefanishion had a goal and three assists. Neil Kodman and Shawn Langen had the other Millionaire goals, while Cole Fern and Jesse Gulbraa tallied for the North Stars. The Millionaires out shot the North Stars 41-27. Justin Pesony made 36 saves in the loss, while Jamie Langen stopped 24 shots to earn the win. Melville scored one power-play goal on four tries, while the North Stars failed to score on six chances, but did manage a short handed goal. Alex Gagnon stopped 31 shots as the Humboldt Broncos beat the Kindersley Klippers 5-3. Brendan Vanthuyne scored two power-play goals in the first period and added an assist in the second period, while Scott Degelman had a goal and three assists. Simon Nadeau and Alex Lussier added goals for the Broncos. Chris O'Connor, Thomas Huling and Curtis Bazylinski replied for Kindersley. Humboldt scored three power-play goals on seven chances, while Kindersley scored one goal on seven chances. The Estevan Bruins put an end to the Notre Dame Hounds' five-game winning streak, beating them 8-2 to win their second in a row. Cameron Jarvis led the attack with three goals and two assists for a five-point night. Also with five points was Chris Stubel who had a goal and four assists. Lorne Tytlandsvik had a goal and three assists. Trevor Hyatt, Kyle Pellerin and Matt Harms had the other Estevan goals, while Matthew Werry and Sasha Pokulok answered for Notre Dame. Chance Gieni was chased from the Hounds' net after allowing five goals on 26 shots midway through the second period. Dustin MacDonald didn't do much better, allowing three goals on seven shots. Estevan's Justin Mrazek made 35 saves for the win. The Bruins scored two power-play goals on five chances, while the Hounds scored once on seven opportunities. The win moves the Bruins two points ahead of the Hounds for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Sherwood Conference, but Notre Dame has two games in hand.
