Kelly Carrington Staff Writer In recognition of the hard work, dedication and time put in by one past city employee, a garden has been established at the Joe Brain Children's Petting Zoo. Brenda Russell worked for the City of Flin Flon for more than two decades, spending the majority of her time in the recreation department. Last Tuesday afternoon, June 28, city worker Rob Roy unveiled the garden to honour his former co-worker. Taking up a corner on the outside of the zoo, the garden features two apple trees, Russell's favourite, as well as a number of flowers. Soon, the garden will also display a plaque, though Roy says it is undecided whether it will be off to the side or in the soil. As the years pass and the trees grow, Russell will be continually honoured for her work with the City of Flin Flon.4/7/11
