Rod Gourlay's rink was the winner of the 72nd Annual Men's Bonspiel this past weekend. Gourlay's rink of Ralph Ellingson, Randy Beever and Bruce Gallay defeated the Brad Lantz rink of John Faktor, Darren Lyhkun and Bob Davis in an extra end on Sunday to win the HBMS/Flin Flon Insurance Main Event in the 38 rink competition. Gourlay scored two in the sixth end to take a 5-4 lead, but Lantz blanked the seventh and scored one in the eighth to tie the game. In the extra end, Gourlay ran Lantz out of rocks with a bunch of his own in the house. In third place was the Bob Bensen rink of Ryan Watt, Trevor Watt and Kelly Davis, while the Brad Leifso rink of Al Fehr, Brian Kryschuk and Jim Glynn finished in fourth place. In the Arctic Beverages Second Event, Ryan Hanson's rink of Dean Pardoski, Derek Reid and Sean Dundas defeated Keenan Kennedy, Mark Anderson, Jim Levandosky and Don Aassen to win the event. See 'Four' P.# Con't from P.# Mike Kryschuk, John Smalley, Spencer Davis and Jarret Kemp finished third, while Tar McCombie, Dave Knutsen, Drew Moore and Hugh Devlin finished fourth. In the Stittco Energy Third Event, Ed Sattleberger's rink of Hugh Quinn, Ken Tetrault and Terry Boydell defeated Gord Linnick's rink of Harold Brown, Bob LeSage and Mike Chrupalo in the final. Don Holmes, Roy Henry, Bill Pico and Ray Laverne finished third, while Scott Gourlay, Andy Burbidge, Todd Pettapiece and Noel Fernandes finished fourth. Blaine Gogal's rink of Jim Quinn, Vinny Moran and Russ Reeves won the Co-op Fourth Event, defeating Craig Craig's rink of Grant McLuckie, Dave Kendall and Randy Matzer. Doug Salahub, Tony Flynn, Darren Hynes and Dave Salahub finished third, while Bernie Wall, Gord Rudd, Chad Collacott and Jamie Kozar finished fourth.
