With the growing success of the in motion's team Health Challenge, the committee is challenging you to keep up the good work. For the month of May, the committee is challenging you to compete against other individuals in the 31-day Personal Health Challenge. Like the team challenge, the personal challenge will have the ticky sheet to keep track of points throughout the week. In just shy of five weeks, individuals will have a chance to collect up to 245 points _ with 56 points up for grabs per week. Competitors will get points for making healthy choices as they follow Canada's Food Guide, exercise five times a week, get an adequate amount of sleep, drink eight glasses of water a day, limit alcohol consumption and take time for themselves. A minimal cost is charged to enter the challenge and will later help determine the first place prize. The more individuals registered for the challenge, the higher the prize money up for grabs. Participants must be registered by April 30 for the May 1 start. Similar to the team challenge in past years, this year's Spring challenge will feature a bingo card with bonus point activities. Items on the sheet include taking a walk on the boardwalk, completing a word or number puzzle, spending an evening screen-free, paying it forward and trying out a fitness class. During the Challenge, the in motion committee will host a Poker Derby on May 24. Prizes are up for grabs as well as water and fruit for those who participate in the lunch-hour event. Whether they have entered in the team challenge or not, all adults are encouraged to participate in the spring challenge. A booklet with tips, guidelines and information will be provided to all competitors. Registration deadline is April 30 and can be done at the Primary Health Care or by phone at (204) 687-1355.
