The 30th Annual Centaloppet was held on the trails of the Flin Flon Ski Club last Sunday. Ivor Hedman, who founded the event back in 1976, was on hand to raise the flag to start the 2005 race. He also presented the Cup to the winner at the end of the race. The course distance is four kilometres. The Centaloppet Cup goes to the skier with the best corrected time, based on age and gender. This year 22 skiers participated, which is the same number as last year. According to race officials, conditions were ideal for racing at -8C with a slight south breeze. The sky was cloudy but bright, and the track was firm. The winner of this year's Centaloppet Cup was 10 year-old Callum Spencer. The runners-up were Kathleen Woodward and Larry Linnick.
