The Flin Flon Bombers are back in business, getting their fifth-straight win over Yorkton Saturday night.

Former Terrier Jordan McCausland opened the scoring for the Bombers with his first goal of the season, a quick shot that just squeaked through Yorkton goalie Ben Laidlaw. Ethan Daniels added another goal in the second period, giving Flin Flon a 2-0 lead after two.

Rob Johnson added a third marker for Flin Flon early in the third, but Yorkton started closing the gap shortly after. Cody Bruchkowski scored his second goal in as many nights to snap Bomber netminder Brenden Newton's shutout, then Cole Keenleyside added another late in the game on a goalmouth scramble.

Once Laidlaw was pulled late in the game, the Terriers continued to press, but Newton and the Bombers stood tall for the win.

Newton received another win after making 37 saves, while Laidlaw had 57 stops.

The win gives the Bombers a five-game winning streak, coming right after a six-game losing skid before the holiday break. The team still sits in ninth place in the league with 32 points, just behind the eighth-place Kindersley Klippers with 34 points.

The Bombers will play their next game in Melfort on Jan. 9, followed by a weekend series at the Whitney against the Battlefords North Stars on Jan. 12 and 13.
