Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Manitoba's NHL franchise sold out their season ticket goal of 13,000 tickets in a matter of minutes. With sales on to the general public this past Saturday, the tickets sold in 17 minutes via a website; the only way to purchase the tickets. "I'm sure many people are a little surprised," Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz told CTV News Channel Saturday night, adding that he always knew Winnipeg had the most "passionate" NHL fans around. "Everyone right now is elated," said the mayor, noting that it will be a historic day when the puck drops in Winnipeg next season. The season ticket goal set by the owners of the new club, True North Sports and Entertainment, was reached with no problem as the waiting list was capped at 8,000. To date, a name as not been selected for the new team, to play out of the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Some fans want the new team to carry the same name as the old one: the Winnipeg Jets.8/6/11
