Though it's not funny to journalists, the reading public has been known to get a kick out of such errors. Take for instance a case that occurred last week in the Winnipeg Free Press. Somehow, the name of the community's mayor, Garry Zamzow, was printed as "Zam Zow." The second paragraph of a story published last Thursday read: "It will be absolutely devastating," said Zam Zow, mayor of Snow Lake, an isolated mining town of 1,100 about 700 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
