Just call it a yard sale on wheels. The Inner Wheel Club will host its Boot Sale fundraiser this Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. until noon (or later if there are still people around) at the Victoria Inn parking lot. It is expected to feature a variety of secondhand items â?? many straight from each vendorâ??s car trunk. The term â??boot saleâ?ù comes from England, where car trunks are known as â??bootsâ?ù and sales of this nature are wildly popular. The Inner Wheel, the Rotary Clubâ??s sister organization, got the idea from a member who went to the U.K. and learned how successful the sales are there. In addition to charging vendors a small fee, the Inner Wheel will raise money by selling their own items as well as hot dogs and refreshments. Rotarians will be on hand making their tasty french fries. Proceeds will benefit a variety of worthy causes in the community. Organizations and projects the Inner Wheel has supported include Camp Whitney, the Lordâ??s Bounty Food Bank, the PARTY alcohol awareness program for youth, and an organ transplant program. Interested vendors can book their spots by stopping by Northern Rainbowâ??s End by Friday. For more information call Agnes Mills at 204-687-8204 Agnes or Brenda Russell at 204-687-2993.
