Manitoba media personalities Sylvia Kuzyk and Ron Able are now World Vision sponsors. The co-chairs of World Vision's Manitoba 2,000 Campaign have joined more than 12,200 Manitobans who already know the joy of helping provide the necessities of life and a better future for nearly 31,500 needy children. Lois Fisher of Flin Flon has known such joy for 16 years. Like many child sponsors, in 1988 Fisher chose to sponsor a child who was the same age as her young son ? three at the time. They grew up together. Of her experience as a child sponsor, Fisher says, "I always appreciated hearing in her letters how much our sponsorship made to her and her family and community." To become a child sponsor during World Vision's Manitoba 2,000 Campaign, visit www.worldvision.ca/manitoba or call 1-877-34-CHILD. Before its conclusion on Sept. 17, the campaign seeks to find Manitoba sponsors for 2,000 impoverished children around the globe. As the new sponsor of five-year-old Anthony, Kuzyk, the weather anchor for CKY News, says, "I'm thankful? that I could make a positive difference in another person's life." Able, a QX 104.1 FM on-air host, adds, "Thirty-three dollars per month is so little, but when it's multiplied two thousand times, amazing things can begin to happen." World Vision is an international Christian humanitarian relief and development organization active in more than 90 countries around the world, providing help to more than 85 million people each year.
